" There are certain instances where you have to make it by yourself
because you know your story better than they do, you have to make it right yourself. "

‘I am who I am’ is an audio piece that includes the voices of six lesbian and gay asylum seekers talking about their experiences during the asylum process in the UK. The sound piece is arranged with multiple voices speaking at the same time.
It is pieced together in this way to touch upon the complexities that are apparent in asylum claims based on sexuality in order to give a sense of the multitude and range of issues sexual minorities are afflicted with whilst in the asylum process.
